Soccer Game Preview: Amundsen vs. Lane Tech

Amundsen hasn't had much luck against Lane Tech recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Vikings will square off against the Champions at 7:00 p.m. Amundsen will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Amundsen is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Whitney Young 2-1. Amundsen wouldn't have won without Raisa Yuille, who scored the game-winner.

Meanwhile, Lane Tech kept a clean sheet against Jones on Friday. They put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 3-0 victory. Considering Lane Tech have won ten matchups by more than two goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Lane Tech is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-2-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 48 goals over those 12 contests. As for Amundsen, their victory bumped their record up to 9-5-1.

Amundsen might still be hurting after the 7-0 defeat they got from Lane Tech in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Vikings avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
