Baseball Recap: Riverview Academy of Math and Science Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Riverview Academy of Math and Science had to start their season on the road on Thursday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell just short of the Foundation Christian Academy Panthers by a score of 4-2.

Caleb Encarnacion put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits (and not a single walk). Encarnacion was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Foundation Christian Academy pushed their record up to 2-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Riverview Academy of Math and Science will take on Gulf Coast HEAT at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Foundation Christian Academy, they will square off against Real Life Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
