Volleyball Recap: University Christian's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak at Home

University Christian and Westminster Catawba Christian squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but University Christian had to settle for second. They came up short against the Indians, falling 3-0. The Barracudas were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Indians apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

University Christian was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Westminster Catawba Christian work for it, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-21, 25-17.

Larkyn Gerken paced University Christian's offense, picking up 15 kills. Gerken got some help from Fernanda Soto and her 26 assists. Kinsley Tompkins controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

University Christian's loss ended a five-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-5. As for Westminster Catawba Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-14.

University Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Westminster Catawba Christian, they have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against St. Thomas More Academy on the 18th.
