Football Recap: Alexander Central Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for Alexander Central's offense. They had to suffer through a 42-0 loss at the hands of the Freedom Patriots. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Cougars have suffered against the Patriots since October 5, 2018.

A big part of Freedom's win came down to the chemistry between Kaden Davis and his top target Kobe Johnson. Davis threw for 207 yards and three touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes while Johnson picked up 147 receiving yards and three scores. Jacorian Logan helped Davis out on the ground, rushing for 63 yards and one TD.

Alexander Central has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season. As for Freedom, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Alexander Central is set to challenge their familiar foe South Caldwell at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Freedom will face off against rival McDowell at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Davis and Danny Charles Brown.
