Baseball Game Preview: Tulelake Honkers vs. Weed Cougars

Tulelake hasn't had much luck against Weed recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Honkers will square off against the Cougars at 2:00 p.m. Tulelake has given up an average of 9.2 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Tulelake came up short against Loyalton on Friday, falling 14-1. The Honkers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Weed had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Bulldogs. That's two games straight that the Cougars have won by exactly ten runs.

Weed's victory bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Tulelake, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-13.

Tulelake couldn't quite get it done against Weed in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 as they fell 12-7. Can the Honkers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
