Soccer Recap: Newark Comes Up Short

Newark was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 8-1 to the Westerville North Warriors. Things were pretty much settled by the half as Newark were already down 5-0.

Newark's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Westerville North, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-0-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Newark will challenge Canal Winchester at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Westerville North, they will look to defend their home pitch on Tuesday against Westerville South at 7:00 p.m. Westerville North will be up against Westerville South's rather soft defense (which has allowed 2.71 goals per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
