Football Game Preview: John Paul the Great Academy Guardians vs. Midstate Homeschool Storm + How To Watch

The John Paul the Great Academy Guardians are headed away from home for the first time to face off against the Midstate Homeschool Storm at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

John Paul the Great Academy is headed out to face Midstate Homeschool after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. The Guardians were the clear victors by a 46-26 margin over Acadiana Christian on Thursday. The Guardians are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 12 straight dating back to last season.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Riley Lormand and Jonah Petitt. Lormand rushed for 203 yards and three scores on only 14 carries while Petitt rushed for 180 yards and three TDs on only 11 carries.

John Paul the Great Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 419 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 211 rushing yards in 12 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

John Paul the Great Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Nicholas Odinet.

Meanwhile, Midstate Homeschool had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Northshore V 38-10.
