Baseball Game Preview: Miller City Wildcats vs. Leipsic Vikings

The Miller City Wildcats will take on the Leipsic Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Leipsic will be up against a hot Miller City team: the squad just extended their winning streak to six. The Wildcats' pitchers stepped up to hand Arlington a 19-0 shutout on Saturday. Considering the Wildcats have won five contests by more than seven runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Leipsic got the win against Pandora-Gilboa on Monday by a conclusive 12-0. The win continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Rockets: they've now won eight in a row.

John Dewar made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Tommy Offenbacher was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That triple was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Tyler Lammers, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

Leipsic was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pandora-Gilboa only posted a batting average of .062.

Miller City's victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Leipsic, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3.
