Baseball Recap: Dekalb Continues Home Dominance on Saturday

DeKalb hadn't done well against Jacobs recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Barbs never let the Golden Eagles get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory. That's two games straight that the Barbs have won by exactly three runs.

DeKalb saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Kees, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases. That's the most stolen bases Kees has posted since back in May of 2024.

DeKalb's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-8-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Jacobs, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 13-14 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. DeKalb will welcome Metea Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Jacobs, they will be playing at home against McHenry at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
