Baseball Recap: Rye Neck's Luck Changes for the Better on Wednesday

Rye Neck came into Wednesday's matchup having lost five straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over Edgemont on Wednesday. Rye Neck has seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw Edgemont, too.

Ryan Magill was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Ben Gellman also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Rye Neck was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They are 2-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Rye Neck's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-7 and their overall record up to 4-9. As for Edgemont, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-12.

Looking ahead, Rye Neck will head out to square off against Hendrick Hudson at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Edgemont, they will host Mount Vernon at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers are facing the Knights at the right time seeing as the Knights are stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
