Soccer Recap: Atkins Extends Winning Streak to 15

It's playoff time, and Atkins had no trouble coming through when it counted. They were the clear victors by a 6-1 margin over the Central Davidson Spartans on Tuesday. Atkins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matches by five goals or more this season.

Their offense was hitting Central Davidson from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Despina Strates led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

The victory (which was Atkins' 15th in a row) raised their record to 16-3-1. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up five goals over those 15 games. As for Central Davidson, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-8-3.

Coming up, Atkins will face off against North Buncombe on Thursday. Central Davidson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
