The Liberty Union Lions are taking a road trip to square off against the Fairfield Union Falcons at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. Liberty Union will be strutting in after a victory while Fairfield Union will be coming in after a loss.
Liberty Union's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They came out on top against Berne Union by a score of 4-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.

The result came thanks to Owen Thomas's shutout, as he gave up just two hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Liberty Union is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 3-4 otherwise.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Cam Wood, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in May of 2024. Cole Thomas also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Fairfield Union's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They lost 12-4 to Bloom-Carroll. Surprisingly, this marked the Falcons' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.
Fairfield Union saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Angelo Galella, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
The win got Liberty Union back to even at 5-5. As for Fairfield Union, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1-1 and their overall record down to 8-3-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Liberty Union has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Fairfield Union struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Liberty Union couldn't quite get it done against Fairfield Union in their previous meeting on April 2nd as they fell 4-1. Can the Lions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
