Softball Recap: Watertown Takes a Loss

Watertown extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping their season record down to 2-5 in the process. They fell 6-2 to the Harrisburg Tigers. The matchup marked the Arrows' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

As for Harrisburg, the win was the 13th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games.

For Harrisburg's part, Madelyn Ducheneaux made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Ducheneaux was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Anna Simunek, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Ava Gross, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Watertown has already played their next contest (against Pierre T.F. Riggs), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Harrisburg, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Roosevelt at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
