Preview: Canyon State Academy Rams vs. Heritage Academy Heroes
Canyon State Academy is 0-3 against Heritage Academy since October of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Canyon State Academy Rams will be playing at home against the Heritage Academy Heroes at 7:00 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Canyon State Academy had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Heritage Academy 24-22.
Meanwhile, Heritage Academy faced Mission Heights Prep in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Heritage Academy really took it to Mission Heights Prep for the full four quarters, racking up a 49-0 win at home. The victory was just business as usual for Heritage Academy, who after six games remain undefeated this season.
Heritage Academy relied on the efforts of Kaden Bergman, who picked up 173 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and Mattson Young, who threw for 327 yards and four touchdowns while completing 90% of his passes. Bergman's longest reception was for an incredible 95 yards.
Canyon State Academy's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Heritage Academy, their win was their sixth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-0.
Canyon State Academy lost to Heritage Academy at home by a decisive 38-20 margin in their previous meeting back in September of 2022. Will Canyon State Academy have more luck at home instead of on the road?
