Football Recap: Lausanne Collegiate Drops Season-High Score on Collierville

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lausanne Collegiate). They strolled past the Collierville Dragons with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 49-35. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lynx.

Lausanne Collegiate had a senior duo take command as Tj Jenkins threw for 356 yards and five touchdowns while completing 76.5% of his passes and Jawell Rodgers picked up 253 receiving yards and four scores. Rodgers' longest reception was for an incredible 78 yards. Lausanne Collegiate also got a significant boost from Marterius Boyd, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 92 yards.

Lausanne Collegiate didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Braylon Wyatt and Joseph Proffitt.

When it comes to explaining why Collierville lost, don't look at Brayden Sanitbanez. Despite the final result, he threw for 269 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 75% of his passes, and also rushed for 49 yards and one score. Another player making a difference was Tae Walden Jr, who picked up 121 receiving yards and one touchdown.

The win got Lausanne Collegiate back to even at 3-3. As for Collierville, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-3 record.

Coming up, Lausanne Collegiate will challenge Non Varsity Opponent at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th. As for Collierville, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Cordova at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th.
