Basketball Recap: Pickett County Extends Winning Streak to Four

Pickett County had won three straight games and Jacob Amonett did his part to make it four on Tuesday. The Pickett County Bobcats blew past the Gordonsville Tigers, posting a 79-44 victory thanks in part to Amonett, who shot 78% from the field to rack up 26 points along with six assists and five rebounds. His morning made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Nathaniel Cobb, who went 8-for-9 on his way to 18 points and five boards. He is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last 13 games he's played.

Pickett County's win bumped their record up to 23-6. As for Gordonsville, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 18-10-1 record.

Pickett County has already played their next matchup, a 65-64 victory against Clay County on the 6th. Gordonsville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
