Soccer Game Preview: Venus vs. Kemp

The Venus Bulldogs will face off against the Kemp Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Venus' offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Venus lost 8-1 to Memorial on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 506th, while the Mavericks are ranked 31st).

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 1-1 at halftime, Kemp was not quite Life Oak Cliff's equal in the second half on Friday. They came up short against the Lions, falling 4-1. The Yellowjackets haven't had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Kemp's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Venus, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
