Volleyball Game Preview: Chowchilla Tribe vs. Minarets Mustangs

Chowchilla hasn't had much luck against Minarets recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Tribe will head out to face off against the Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Chowchilla came up short against Yosemite on Tuesday, falling 3-0.

While Chowchilla was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-19, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Minarets lost 3-0 to Fresno Christian on Tuesday. The Mustangs have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

While Minarets was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Fresno Christian's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-14, 25-20.

Minarets' defeat dropped their record down to 11-16-1. As for Chowchilla, their loss dropped their record down to 19-8.

Chowchilla beat Minarets 3-1 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tribe since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
