Basketball Game Preview: Harmony Area Owls vs. Curwensville Golden Tide

The Harmony Area Owls will square off against the Curwensville Golden Tide at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Harmony Area is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak.

On Wednesday, Harmony Area ended up a good deal behind Blacklick Valley and lost 62-44. The Owls were down 47-25 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Meanwhile, Curwensville played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against West Branch, falling 84-54. The Golden Tide were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-25.

Loss or not, Curwensville got some senior leadership from Davis Fleming and Chandler English. Fleming went 9 of 17 en route to 24 points along with six assists and five boards, while English went 5 of 10 on his way to 13 points and three steals. That was a full 44.4% of Curwensville's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan McCartney, who had eight points.

This is the second loss in a row for Curwensville and nudges their season record down to 2-6. As for Harmony Area, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.
