Softball Recap: Flushing Raiders vs. Holly Bronchos
Flushing had lost four straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 1-14 to make it five. They lost 12-1 to the Holly Bronchos. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bronchos this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-3 back in April.
As for Holly, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-10. The contest marked their most dominant victory of the season.
For Holly's part, Alyssa Bowman spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up nine Ks.
On the hitting side, Molly Charboneau (SVSU) was incredible, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases and three runs. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jaelynn Mortinsen, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
Coming up, Flushing will face off against Kearsley at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Holly, they will challenge Ithaca at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
