Baseball Recap: King's Academy Comes Up Short

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Saturday as neither King's Academy nor Archbishop Mitty made it on the board until the seventh inning. The Knights fell just short of the Monarchs by a score of 3-2. The Knights have struggled against the Monarchs recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

King's Academy saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Johnson, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

King's Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Archbishop Mitty, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-10.

King's Academy and Archbishop Mitty could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Knights will square off against Menlo-Atherton at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank disadvantage (272 vs. 120). Meanwhile, Archbishop Mitty (ranked 176th) will meet Junipero Serra (ranked ninth) at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
