Basketball Game Preview: Maypearl Panthers vs. Little River Academy Bumblebees

The Maypearl Panthers will face off against the Little River Academy Bumblebees at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Maypearl is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 48-25 margin over Troy. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 395th, while the Trojans are ranked 968th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Little River Academy had already won 11 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 36 points) and they went ahead and made it 12 on Monday. Everything went their way against the Black Cats as they made off with a 52-32 win. The Bumblebees have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 18 games by 20 points or more this season.

Maypearl is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 24-9 record this season. As for Little River Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 28-5.
