Softball Recap: Central Bobcats vs. Metro Tech Knights
Central extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 23 on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 0-18 in the process. They came up short against the Metro Tech Knights, falling 18-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 25-6 back in March.
As for Metro Tech, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-10. Considering their hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
For Metro Tech's part, the team relied heavily on Maria Mada, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Mada also put up a triple, which was her first of the season. Mariah Price was another key player, going 4-for-5 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Central wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 18-0 defeat against North on the 28th. As for Metro Tech, they have also already played their next match, a 17-2 victory against Sierra Linda on the 25th.
