Football Recap: Preston Smith's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Fulton County over Greenfield + How To Watch

Fulton County extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to ten on Friday, dropping them down to 0-5. They lost 57-34 to the Greenfield Yellowjackets. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Pilots of the 20-16 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2020.

Fulton County lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Preston Smith, who threw for 205 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 31 yards and one TD. Davarius Freeman helped out on the ground, rushing for 91 yards and a rushing touchdown.

As for Greenfield, they picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 2-3. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Greenfield to victory, but perhaps none more so than Easton Sullivan, who rushed for 97 yards and a pair of scores on only eight carries, and also threw for 199 yards and three TDs while completing 83.3% of his passes. Westin Porter was another key back, gaining 216 total yards.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fulton County will square off against Varsity Opponent at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Greenfield, they will venture away from home to take on West Carroll at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Yellowjackets will be up against the War Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 39 points per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
