Preview: Chetopa Hornets vs. Altoona-Midway Jets
Chetopa has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Altoona-Midway Jets at 6:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Last Tuesday, Chetopa had to suffer through a rough 58-28 loss at the hands of Tyro Christian. Chetopa has not had much luck with Tyro Christian recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Altoona-Midway, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 51-33 loss to Flinthills on Tuesday.
Altoona-Midway's defeat came about despite a quality game from Kieran Foster, who scored 17 points. That's the first time this season that Foster scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was William Stackhouse, who scored three points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Chetopa's loss was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-3. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 17.1 points per game. As for Altoona-Midway, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Chetopa took a serious blow against Altoona-Midway when the teams last played back in January, falling 71-24. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Chetopa was down 42-9.
