Baseball Recap: Taylor Takes a Loss

Taylor fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Jarrell on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 5-4. The Ducks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cougars earlier this season, when they won 17-1.

Trey Stromberg made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Angel Rodriguez also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Taylor has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-13-1 record this season. Jarrell moved to 4-14 with that win, which also ended their seven-game losing streak.

Coincidentally, Taylor and Jarrell will both be playing Burnet the next time they take the field. Taylor will head out to face Burnet at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Jarrell will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on April 11.
