Grace Ellington commands the offense for a Knights win

Recap: Windsor Forest Knights vs. Appling County Pirates

There's no place like home for the Windsor Forest Knights, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They skirted past Appling County 48-45. For Windsor Forest, this counts as revenge for the 47-40 defeat Appling County walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Windsor Forest to victory, but perhaps none more so than Grace Ellington, who scored 22 points. Those 22 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Trinity Myers, who scored 14 points.

Appling County's loss on Tuesday came despite strong showings from Ke?niyah White and Shamiah Barnum . White scored 12 points along with five rebounds, while Barnum scored no points along with 11 steals and five rebounds. Those 11 steals set a new season-high mark for her.

Windsor Forest's win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Appling County, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Windsor Forest will challenge Vidalia at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Appling County, they will head out on the road to face off against Toombs County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
