Softball Recap: Ava Cater Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Riverview

The third road match was the charm for Strawberry Crest, as they earned their first road win of the season. They never let the Riverview Sharks get on the board and left with a 2-0 win on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Chargers have posted since April 19, 2024.

Not much got past Katelyn Watts, who gave up just four hits to keep Riverview off the board. What's more, Watts posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Strawberry Crest's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ava Cater, who scored a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Strawberry Crest picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 2-3. As for Riverview, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Strawberry Crest didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 14-8 defeat against Plant on the 4th. As for Riverview, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 12-1 win against Spoto on the 4th.
