Basketball Recap: Warner Wildcats vs. Calexico Mission RoadRunners
In what's become a running theme this season, the Warner Wildcats gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 53-20 win over Calexico Mission. Warner pushed the score to 43-8 by the end of the third, a deficit the RoadRunners cut but never quite recovered from.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Warner to victory, but perhaps none more so than Omar Acosta, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds. Isiah Whitsey was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Calexico Mission lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Leonardo Longino, who scored ten points. That was a full 50% of Calexico Mission's points, marking the ninth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Warner is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 15-11 record this season. As for Calexico Mission, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.
Warner will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. As for Calexico Mission, they will head out on the road to take on the Dragons at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
