Recap: Valley Park Hawks vs. Jefferson Blue Jays
The Valley Park Hawks lost against the Jefferson Blue Jays back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Valley Park was beaten by Jefferson 69-22. Valley Park was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-13.
Megan Wood was her usual excellent self, almost dropping a triple-double on 15 points, 11 rebounds, and 9 steals for Jefferson. Wood is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Halayna Loyd, who scored 12 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Valley Park and nudges their season record down to 1-2. As for Jefferson, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Valley Park will take on Wright City at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Jefferson, they will be playing in front of their home fans against West County at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
