Softball Game Preview: Ferris Bulldogs vs. St. Dominic Academy Blue Devils

The Ferris Bulldogs will venture away from home to square off against the St. Dominic Academy Blue Devils at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Ferris will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.

Ferris is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 21-1 margin over University Academy Charter on Friday. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by ten runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, St. Dominic Academy fell victim to McNair Academic and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Cougars, falling 19-0. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Blue Devils were not able to get on the board.

Ferris is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.1 runs over those games. As for St. Dominic Academy, they dropped their record down to 7-4 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Everything went Ferris' way against St. Dominic Academy in their previous meeting on Tuesday, as Ferris made off with a 16-4 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
