Softball Game Preview: Palm Bay Pirates vs. Titusville Terriers

Palm Bay hasn't had much luck against Titusville recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Pirates will square off against the Terriers at 6:00 p.m. Palm Bay has given up an average of 19.6 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Palm Bay couldn't beat Calvary Chapel Academy on Thursday even though they stacked four runs on them in the first inning. The Pirates lost 20-7 to the Eagles. The Pirates just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Miya Reed and Amirah Roberts stepped up to the plate in a big way. Reed went 1-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run, while Roberts got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs. Reed is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Hannah Crespo was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and one run.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 18 runs the game before, Titusville was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They came up short against Satellite, falling 15-0. The Terriers haven't had much luck with the Scorpions recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Titusville's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Palm Bay, their loss dropped their record down to 1-12.

Palm Bay might still be hurting after the 21-1 defeat they got from Titusville when the teams last played last Tuesday. Can the Pirates avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
