Volleyball Recap: Missisquoi Valley Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Colchester

Missisquoi Valley faced Colchester in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Thunderbirds came up short against the Lakers, falling 3-0. If the Thunderbirds were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Lakers when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The final score came out to 25-13, 25-6, 25-19.

Payton Vilmont had a dynamite game For Colchester., getting 14 aces and eight assists. Those 14 aces gave Vilmont a new career-high.

Missisquoi Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Colchester, they pushed their record up to 5-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. Missisquoi Valley will square off against Hartford at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Colchester, they will face off against Randolph at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
