Basketball Game Preview: East Iberville Tigers vs. St. John Eagles

The East Iberville Tigers will challenge the St. John Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

St. John will be up against a hot East Iberville team: the squad just extended their winning streak to five. Everything went East Iberville's way against Ascension Christian on Tuesday as East Iberville made off with a 47-26 victory. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 contests by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, St. John humbled North Iberville with a 53-21 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

East Iberville is also on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.6 points per game. As for St. John, their win bumped their record up to 11-6.

East Iberville was able to grind out a solid victory over St. John in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, winning 50-41. Will East Iberville repeat their success, or does St. John have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
