Basketball Recap: Carrboro Skates Past South Granville with Ease

A well-balanced attack led Carrboro over South Granville in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Carrboro Jaguars blew the South Granville Vikings out of the water with a 62-29 final score. The Jaguars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 25 points or more this season.

Carrboro was led to victory by Madison Taylor and Summer Lee. Taylor posted 20 points along with six rebounds and four steals, while Lee dropped a double-double with 14 points and 17 boards. Lee has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 14 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Avery Lackland, who earned four points and three steals.

Carrboro smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 26 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 16 offensive boards in three consecutive contests.

Carrboro has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.4 points over those games. As for South Granville, their loss dropped their record down to 9-16.
