Adding to the longest winning streak in AAAAAA Region 2 this week, Lovejoy beat Marietta 27-23. This was the team's ninth consecutive win.
Luella fell to North Cobb 60-18 last week, the largest margin of any game. Ryan Brown was a bright spot for the Lions, as he in the loss.
Luella's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver.
Newton's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Rams feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Romario Johnson has thrown for 1,396 yards and 14 touchdowns this season, while Davonta Jones has 29 catches for 526 yards. Johnson also leads the league in rushing with 689 yards.
Lovejoy and the Blue Devils played the most contested game in the league this week, with Lovejoy eventually emerging with a 27-23 victory.
