Football Game Preview: Lake Oswego Lakers vs. Grants Pass Cavemen

The Lake Oswego Lakers will face off against the Grants Pass Cavemen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.

Lake Oswego is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They blew past Sprague 49-14. Considering the Lakers have won nine matchups by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Grants Pass faced Sherwood in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Cavemen narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Bowmen 35-32. That's two games straight that the Cavemen have won by exactly three points.

Lake Oswego's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Grants Pass, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.

Everything went Lake Oswego's way against Grants Pass in their previous matchup back in November of 2019, as Lake Oswego made off with a 55-33 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lakers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
