Softball Recap: Dobson Mustangs vs. Westwood Warriors
The home team had come away the winner the last five times Dobson and Westwood had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Mustangs lost 15-9 to the Warriors on Wednesday. The Mustangs were not able to make up for their loss to the Warriors from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.
Sydnee Kapanak made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Mersades Torres, who scored a run while going 2-for-5.
Dobson's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Westwood, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-7-1 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dobson will square off against Mountain View at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Mustangs will need to watch out since the Toros have now posted at least ten runs in their last four contests. As for Westwood, they will face off against Red Mountain at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Mountain Lions will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Warriors surely won't give up without a fight.
