Basketball Recap: Edmond Santa Fe Comes Up Short

Edmond Santa Fe lost against Putnam City North back in January of 2020 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Edmond Santa Fe Wolves took a 62-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Putnam City North Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while the Panthers are ranked 25th).

Putnam City North's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Khai Brown, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 18 points and eight assists. Anthony Leonard was another key player, putting up 12 points in addition to six boards and four steals.

Edmond Santa Fe has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Putnam City North, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-5.
