Basketball Recap: Cypress Falls Skates Past Katy with Ease

Cypress Falls lost to Katy back in December of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Cypress Falls Eagles really took it to the Katy Tigers for the full four quarters, racking up a 68-38 victory. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 45-19.

Cypress Falls' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gisselle Jackson, who went 6 of 11 en route to 14 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. That's the most boards Jackson has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Dazlyn Mcclenon, who posted 11 points and eight rebounds.

Cypress Falls pushed their record up to 10-3 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.1 points per game. As for Katy, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-8.

Cypress Falls didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 62-60 win against Memorial on the 10th. As for Katy, they will welcome Katy Taylor at 7:00 p.m. on December 13th. Katy Taylor will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Katy surely won't give up without a fight.
