Recap: Buckeye Bucks vs. Loudonville Redbirds
This season hasn't been kind to the Buckeye Bucks, who are still winless after their seventh game. They took a serious blow against Loudonville on Monday, falling 88-8. While losing is never fun, Buckeye can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 738th, while Loudonville is ranked 34th).
Buckeye got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of
Ellen Steppenbacker and
Maddy Kost, who each put up three points.
Tami Chovancova held things down on the boards with nine rebounds.
Buckeye bumped their record down to 0-7 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Loudonville, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
Buckeye will head out on the road to face off against Holy Name at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Holy Name focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Saturday. As for Loudonville, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Central Christian at 2:30 p.m. on December 16th.
