Lutheran took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They put the hurt on the Westminster Christian Wildcats with a sharp 3-0 victory. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

While Lutheran won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-20, 26-24.

Lutheran was led to victory by Eliana Sweet and Ella Woodard. Sweet had 15 assists and six digs, while Woodard had 14 assists.

Lutheran was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in eight consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Coming up, Lutheran will take on Holt at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Westminster Christian has already played their next match (against Parkway Central), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
