Softball Recap: Santa Fe Extends Winning Streak to Three

Santa Fe entered their tilt with Cabrillo on Saturday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Cabrillo Conquistadores. That's two games straight that the Chiefs have won by just one run.

Isabella Montez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on eight hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Saryah Razo, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That stolen base was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Sophia Garcia, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Santa Fe was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .375 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

The victory got Santa Fe back to even at 5-5. As for Cabrillo, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, Santa Fe is taking a road trip to take on Whittier at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cabrillo, they will take on Righetti at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
