Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask East Columbus). Everything went their way against the Pender Patriots on Friday as the East Columbus Gators made off with an 18-2 win. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Gators with their most commanding win of the season.
Adrion Jenerette made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, Nick Rye was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. Kamden Coker also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

East Columbus' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so High Point Baptist Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Pender, they will face off against James Kenan at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Pender has given up an average of 8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
