Baseball Recap: Cape Henlopen Extends Winning Streak to Three

Cape Henlopen barely beat Smyrna the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Vikings put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 11-1 win on Tuesday. Considering the Vikings have won nine games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory (which was Cape Henlopen's third in a row) raised their record to 13-1. As for Smyrna, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-14.

Coming up, Cape Henlopen will venture away from home to take on Polytech at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Smyrna, they will host Newark Charter School at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Patriots' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
