Football Recap: Mitchell Takes a Loss

Mitchell extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 13 on Friday, dropping them down to 0-8. They were beaten by the Paoli Rams 57-6. The Bluejackets were not able to make up for their defeat to the Rams from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Joe Todd threw for 77 yards and one TD. Levi Petro was his top target, picking up 44 receiving yards and one score. On the ground, Kaden Mullis rushed for 46 yards.

As for Paoli, they pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. That looming 57-6 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.

Paoli got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Justin Thornton out in front who rushed for 186 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only eight carries. Thornton also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making five total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defending one pass. Tyler Hannon was in the mix as well, providing Paoli with two scores.

Mitchell wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 23-20 win against Perry Central on the 17th. As for Paoli, they have also already played their next contest, a 50-7 victory against North Knox on the 17th.
