Softball Recap: Lincoln County Falcons vs. Smyrna Bulldogs        
        
		
            
 On Friday,  it was close, but  the Lincoln County Falcons sidestepped the Smyrna Bulldogs for  a  6-5 victory.
  Haley Cartwright spent all seven innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered  just two earned  (and two unearned) runs on 11 hits.
 On the hitting side,  Hallie Meeks was  incredible,  going 3-for-4 with a  triple, two  RBI,  and a  run. The team also got some help courtesy of  Abby Flynt, who  went 3-for-4 with two  RBI.
 On Smyrna's side,  Emma McDonald was cooking despite her team's loss,   going 2-for-3 with two  runs, a  triple,  and two  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Sophie Clayton, who  went 3-for-4 with two  RBI.
 Lincoln County's win bumped their record up to 15-4. As for Smyrna, their loss dropped their record down to 10-2.
 Lincoln County will be playing in front of their home fans against Shelbyville Central at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Shelbyville Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 10.2  runs per game this season. As for Smyrna, they will be staying on the road  on Tuesday to face off against Wilson Central at 6:30  p.m.
