Soccer Recap: Mammoth Takes a Loss

If Mammoth was feeling good fresh off their 6-1 takedown of Mojave last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mammoth Huskies took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the California City Ravens on Tuesday. The Huskies were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Ravens earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

Mammoth's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7-2. As for California City, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 10-11-1 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mammoth will challenge Desert at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing isn't great for Desert: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Mammoth has snatched up four consecutive wins on the road. As for California City, they will take on Bishop Union at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bishop Union's last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
