Baseball Recap: Oakdale Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Oakdale waltzed into their contest on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Central Catholic Raiders. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Mustangs have posted since March 20th.

Landon Schutte made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Schutte wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Bas Stice, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run.

Oakdale's victory bumped their record up to 16-6. As for Central Catholic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 18-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Raiders beat Oakdale by a score of 8-5 on Wednesday.
