Baseball Game Preview: Stayton Eagles vs. Cascade Cougars

For the second straight game, Stayton will face off against Cascade. The Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Stayton will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Monday, then bounced right back against Cascade on Wednesday. The Eagles put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 10-2 victory. The Eagles not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 4th (when they won 15-5).

For Cascade's part, Caden Bitikofer made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run was Bitikofer's first of the season.

Stayton pushed their record up to 8-11 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Cascade, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.
